A quick answer to the above question is this: Without a morality predicated on spiritual realities, a lasting society can no more be maintained than could the solar system without gravity.
Having made that statement, I still must address the distinction between religion and organized religion.

I am currently in Colombia, serving as Spanish translator for the president of Urantia Association International during his visit to Pereira and Medellin. He is travelling throughout South America informing The Urantia Book readers about the Leadership Symposium in Chicago next year, and also about the importance of forming study groups in their countries. During one of the meetings, I had the opportunity to present my workshop on Cultivating Universal Intelligence and the response was very heart warming. It has been wonderful meeting with readers and non-readers alike. I have been moved by the love, humility, and desire for growth that has been expressed both here in Colombia and also in Mexico City last February. There is so much that I have learned from my brothers and sisters in the south! . . .

This morning I received a post from someone who read my blog entitled “Expanding the Meaning of Revelation.” The post expressed dissappointment that I did not give my personal opinion about revelation. Although I did post some personal comments, I give my clear opinion about revelation below, specifically, why the fifth epochal revelation in The Urantia Book is so important. It was this realization that motivated me to write Heaven Is Not the Last Stop: to facilitate the understanding of this revelatory text in the context of existing human wisdom.
